In response to the threat of the COVID-19 Coronavirus, ArtSpeaks Studio will follow these policies:
- Until further notice, students and the teacher will wear masks during class.
- Class sizes will be limited and work tables are positioned so that students are separated at least 6' from one another.
- There are free standing protective barriers installed between work tables to reduce the spread of disease.
- Contact surfaces and implements including tables, door handles, coffee pot, microwave refrigerator, sink, and other common areas will be sanitized with disinfectant before each class.
- The studio is equipped with a sink and disinfectant for sanitation.
- A Hepa air purifier for the classroom will clean the air up to 12 times per hour.
- Students who suspect they are ill should stay home from class. The class materials will be sent by email to the missing student so that they will not miss too much of the work. If the teacher becomes ill, class will be cancelled and rescheduled.
- Course Content: Classes include demonstrations, project suggestions, examples of a broad range of artmaking approaches, and personal feedback.
- Course Schedule: New art classes start almost every week. Check the class schedule monthly to know which classes are available. Classes may be added or removed from the schedule until three days before they begin if enrollment is not sufficient or there are other complicating factors.
- Price Changes: Prices and course schedules may change as needed before tuition is paid.
- Payment Policy: Classes must be fully paid before instruction begins. Register early before classes fill. Payment can be made by mailed check or through PayPal.
- Wait List: Once registration limits are reached, students will be placed on a waiting list until the class begins. Drop-outs before class begins will be replaced by people on the wait list on a first come, first refusal basis. If a student from the Wait List replaces a cancelled registrant, the person who dropped will get all of their money back.
- Refunds: Cancellations 7 or more days before the course begins will be fully refunded. Three-quarters of the total class fee will be refunded for cancellations less than a week before the class starts but before instruction begins. There will be no refunds once instruction begins.
- Enrollment Limits: Course enrollment limits will be set according to available space, pandemic limitations, and to maximize the instructor’s ability to work effectively with students. Classes with less than three paid students will be cancelled and registration fees will be returned in full.
- Absences: Students are asked to notify the instructor if they will miss a class meeting. Unfortunately, there can be no make-up classes for student absences but missed materials and information will be provided as possible. If you miss a class, please let us know why so that we can monitor illness.
- Class Photography: Promotional photographs will be taken of classes in progress and of student work. Unless the subject of the photograph gives written permission, no names will be used and the rights to any compositions are retained by the artist who created the work.
- Food and Drinks: Students may bring snacks and drinks during classes. Beer and wine may be consumed in moderation unless other participants object. No alcoholic beverages will be permitted when any participants of the class are younger than 16 years of age.
- Confidentiality: All materials provided to students are copyrighted and are not to be shared with non-students.
